Birthday: August 6
Hometown: Portland, OR
College: Just school for radio…
How long here: since 2009
How long in radio business: Since right out of high school.
Coolest person here: All of us! Everyone is cool in different ways.
What I love about Houston: The weather. I can wear flip-flops all year long. It’s got a great cost of living. The restaurants! I’m still looking for the perfect brunch spot with bottomless mimosas!
Favorite four-letter word: The one I should say or the ones that make me sound like I have turrets’ syndrome?
Favorite people to interview: I interviewed Garth Brooks the first time I went to CMA’s. Here is the biggest country star talking with lil’ ole me and he couldn’t have been nicer. I’ve always heard great stories about his kindness and generosity.
My guilty pleasure is Sweets: Ice cream, cupcakes, donuts…I rotate my sweet tooth
What I’m mostly known for: Wow! I guess my terrible dating life and the stories that come from them that end up being good for a blog. (BTW…I don’t write about every date)
Experience: KUPL-Portland, KKNU-Eugene, OR, Waitt Radio Networks-Syndicated Midday Country Personality, KASE-Austin, KSD-St. Louis, WKTI-Milwaukee
Hosted TV show St. Louis Country and filled in as Co-host of The Morning Blend on WTMJ. Also was a WTMJ 4 contributor for “What’s Hot”
I also write a blog here and there that’s based off relationship stuff, my personal flaws, and observations.
Favorite shows: Criminal Minds, CSI, 20/20—OMG, these shows make me feel old!
Signature phrases: Not sure I have just one!! If I do…I think other people would know it before I did.
Favorite music experiences: Having the guys of The Randy Rogers Band pull down their pants and show me their matching a$$ tattoos. Not only was it a great story, but we got it on video! Can someone say YouTube?
Other talents: I can stick my tongue in my nose. I kind of have a Gene Simmons tongue.
Family: Let’s see…my dad is freakish tall. I get my messiness from my parents (I think they might be hoarders) I’m the only girl in my family and the oldest, hence why I’m a sassy thing and a little bossy. My mom is not like every other mom…she never calls me or beats me down about grand kids or getting married!
More: I love to travel and try to do as much as I can…and afford. I have two dogs: Handsome and Silkie. They are my fur children.
A few years ago I bought my first home by myself, which I’m pretty proud of. I’ve also done a few other things recently that I’ve been putting off for years. I figured you just gotta do it and stop waiting for the perfect moment, because sometimes the perfect moment never comes. Make it happen!
At a recent show, Luke performed a unreleased new track during a private performance and it’s pretty awesome!
