According to The Wrap, the Idol finalist turned Oscar and Grammy winner is in talks to return to the show as a judge for season 13, but her reps have yet to confirm. Hudson was a finalist in season three, finishing in seventh place, and recently appeared on stage with current Idol winner Candice Glover during last week’s season finale.

Vulture first reported that JHud was offered a judging spot in the show’s plan to rework the entire judging panel with Idol alumni.  Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken are also said to be in the running, though nothing has been confirmed by the network.

“The show’s producers feel they’ve lost their core audience,” an insider told The Wrap. “And they want to bring back former contestants in order to tell their core audience, ‘We love you.’ They know they’ve made some major mistakes over the past few seasons and they want to make it right with their fans.”

Fox Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly told reporters last week that “everything is on the table” for the next season of the long running competition show, and will likely return to the three judge panel it started with in 2002.

The rumored facelift to the show comes after the remaining original judge Randy Jackson announced he’ll be leaving the show earlier this month. Though, the status on whether new judges Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Mariah Carey will be returning next season is still up in the air.

Now comes “Your Side of the Bed.” For this next single, they’ve chosen an unabashedly sad song that’s about just what the title implies–that feeling when partners in a romantic relationship drift apart.

This week the band released a brand-new video for the song, starring LBT bandmates (and real-life married couple) Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook.

“Your Side of the Bed” was written by Little Big Town and Lori McKenna, and the group’s performance of the song was a highlight of the 2013 ACM Awards.

1. What do you have already? What is it that you own at home already? Do you really need to go and purchase essentials? Chances are you already have a great festive table cloth, napkins left over from another party you threw or you have some decorations that can translate into a great Memorial Day celebration! Before you hit the stores, check and see what you have already!

2. Visit your local discount shops. When it comes to throwing a great party, “dollar stores” are great places to begin your shopping. Table cloths, plastic utensils, decorations and even certain foods can only cost you a dollar each! Also, check with retailers for sales on decorations that you can use again, again and again!

3. Pot-Luck Please!
There is no need to prepare all of the food yourself. Have friends bring their award-winning dishes to the party. From desserts to delicious dips and chips, to great main dishes such as ribs and chicken, you have the opportunity to create more fun when everyone participates in the culinary creations!

4. Classic games and fun! Memorial Day gatherings are all about having fun and sometimes that fun comes in the form of games. Have classic board games on hand for guests or even a few decks of cards. Get some of the latest DVDs or ask friends to bring theirs so that great movie can be played while everyone is enjoying delicious eats and treats!

The deadly tornadoes that hit Moore and other cities in Oklahoma have hit home for Carrie.

“I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness. With the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornadoes.”

After Hurricane Sandy, Carrie designated funds raised from her Atlantic City, NJ show to help with the relief efforts. Since then, Carrie has designated proceeds from her “Blown Away” tour to help with all disaster relief that the American Red Cross responds to. Proceeds from the Canadian tour stops benefit the Canadian Red Cross.

In a statement Neal Litvack, chief development officer for the Red Cross stated:

“The impact of the tornadoes in Oklahoma and the Midwest was devastating and the road to recovery will be long for many families. Through the generosity of Carrie, the American Red Cross can quickly respond with shelter, food and comfort now, and with lasting help as they move toward recovery.”

The Red Cross responds to over 70,000 disasters across the US every year. To have a $10 donation added to your cell phone bill, text “REDCROSS” to 90999.

“I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness,” Carrie said in a press statement. “With the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornadoes.”

The contribution plan was established when the Blown Away Tour launched last year, where one dollar from every ticket would go to Red Cross disaster relief.

Oklahoma may be Carrie’s home state, but this isn’t a case of playing favorites. Last year, for instance, she donated proceeds from a show in Atlantic City, N.J. to aid victims of Superstorm Sandy. “You have been through so much and still rocked the house!” she wrote at the time.

The latter won an Oscar for her turn in the 2005 film Walk the Line. On Monday night, folk-pop songwriter Jewel steps into the role when the June Carter biopic Ring of Fire debuts on Lifetime.

Ring of Fire is based on the book Anchored in Love: An Intimate Portrait of June Carter Cash, written by John Carter Cash, the son of June and her late husband Johnny Cash. The film also stars Matt Ross (American Horror Story, Big Love) as Johnny, Frances Conroy (Six Feet Under) as June’s mother Maybelle Carter, and John Doe of punk band X as A.P. Carter, June’s uncle. The film was directed by Allison Anders.

Maybelle and A.P. (along with Sara Carter) were the three founding members of pioneering country group the Carter Family, who first recorded in 1927. June and her sisters Helen and Anita recorded with the Carter Family as kids, and later toured with Maybelle as Mother Maybelle and the Carter Sisters.

Ring of Fire follows June from her Carter Family days on up to her marriage to Johnny Cash, including her battle to get him back on the straight and narrow.

During a screening of Ring of Fire in L.A. this week, Jewel said she was aware of the challenges in the role, since she would be ultimately compared to Reese’s award-winning turn as June eight years earlier. She also said that being a musician herself didn’t help matters. In fact, she admitted, “It was hardest for me to stay in character when I was singing. I even had a hard time clapping in time.”

Formerly known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the Civil War. By the 20th century, the day had been extended to honor all Americans who have died while in the military service. Many of us honor those who are still living with love and special fortitude as we celebrate all that they sacrificed.

This Memorial Day, strike up the grill, get the pool gear handy and begin the unofficial start to your summer… and perhaps you can take the time to say “Thank You” to those men and women who took it upon themselves to fight and preserve the freedoms we enjoy and relish.

It all started when Oklahoma’s Secretary of Agriculture Jim Reese reached out to Miranda asking if she could help.  He obviously knew she’d be willing to help.

MuttNation has teamed up with two other charities to send mobile pet rescue units to the area.  The units are sheltering animals as they’re being treated . . . and they’re helping transport them to permanent locations.

Miranda talked about it on Facebook.  She said, “I’m so proud that MuttNation Foundation can help even a little.”

In fact, Cruise has also had the most weeks at #1 for ANY country act since Hee-Haw superstar Buck Owens spent 16 weeks at the top in 1963-64 with Love’s Gonna Live Here.

Florida Georgia Line was able to break the record thanks to two different versions of “Cruise”.  The original album track spent three weeks at the top back in December.

The remix, featuring rapper Nelly, kicked it back to #1.
