The last time we featured Ms. Musgraves there was just “live” videos circulating the net for her song “Blowin Smoke” but now there’s an official video for that song.

One that I think every waitress or waiter can relate to, I mean who hasn’t walked in to their favorite diner past 2am to see the staff sitting at the bar or a table off to the side, smoking, waiting for the next order or to clock out?

Perhaps “slam-dunking” their earnings into sports franchises is the way to go. When it comes to team ownership, certain stars seem to be scoring the ultimate touch down, that “golden goalie” that…OK, enough with the metaphors is what you are saying.

Would you sink your earnings into a sports franchise?

Vampire Weekend sold 134,000 copies of its third album Modern Vampires of the City, according to data from Nielsen SoundScan, while Strait’s 28th studio album sold 120,000.

According to Billboard, Love Is Everything is Strait’s 18th release that has landed in the top ten, putting him in a tie with Paul McCartney for fourth-most top tens among male artists (Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, and Elvis Presley are the only men with more).

Love Is Everything also peaked at No. 1 on the Country Albums chart, extending Strait’s record of such albums to 25. Strait also scored his 60th No. 1 single on any chart across all genres — a major chart feat, though he was already holding the record for most singles — this past week, just before his 61st birthday (on May 18).

Another interesting tidbit reported by Billboard is that Vampire Weekend’s album is the 19th independently distributed record to reach No. 1 on the chart since SoundScan data was first recorded in 1991. The last indie album to top the charts was Jason Aldean’s Night Train last fall (released by Broken Bow).

The top five is filled out by Demi Lovato, who notches third place with Demi; The Great Gatsby soundtrack, which falls from second to fourth; and Lady Antebellum‘s Golden, which debuted in the top spot last week but now drops to a still-respectable fifth.

Country music closes out the top 10, too, with Pistol Annies‘ Annie Up hitting No. 9 and Blake Shelton’s Based on a True Story… notching No. 10.

As he told Billboard after Tuesday’s edition of The Voice, he’ll have more information on what he’s planning “in the next 24 hours” and that “it will raise a lot of money.” He added, “Obviously it will be televised and will happen really quickly.” Billboard reports that he then pointed to his fellow Voice coach Usher and said, “I can call in some really big favors.”

Shelton’s event is reportedly being planned to take place in Oklahoma City.

Blake and his wife Miranda Lambert (who originally hails from Texas but currently has a home and retail store in Oklahoma) also performed their ACM-winning “Over You” as the opening song on The Voice last night, in a tribute to those affected by the tornado.

“I think it was the perfect song for this situation,” Shelton said of including “Over You” on The Voice. “The moment was right and I wish things would’ve been different and I wouldn’t have been thinking about performing a song like that.”

Rolling Stone reports that Shelton and wife Miranda Lambert honored the thousands of victims affected by the recent tornadoes through song; a heart-felt acoustic version of Lambert’s “Over You” was sung by the couple in tribute of those who endured nature’s wrath this week in OKC.

The tornadoes devastated  portions of Oklahoma earlier this week, killing at least 24 people. The town of Moore, Oklahoma, succumbed to the wrath of the natural disaster as 200 mph winds were calculated.

As the benefit is within its preliminary stages, no date was set for the concert at the time of this report.

The South Carolina native and hit crooner behind “Wagon Wheel” singer from South Carolina, just released his third studio album, “True Believer,” on Tuesday.

Rucker who was recently spotlighted as CBS Radio’s “Impact Artist”, addressed the tweet in an interview he gave to Rolling Stone Magazine: “I was absolutely shocked,” he said. “Sometimes people will say, ‘You’re not country,’ and I know what that means, because they can’t be talking about the music. But when somebody says to leave country music to the white folks, that is unbelievable to me… But that’s life. That’s something that I’m going to have to deal with the rest of my career, because I’m a black guy in country music and there are people who don’t like that. But it’s not going to make me quit.”

Whether you are planning to grill a burger or two and camp in front of your television for a sitcom marathon, hit the beach with the family or simply relax in a hammock while you opt to exclude the rest of the world, there are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to safety.

Check out these safety tips for that perfect Memorial Day holiday weekend!

FOOD SAFETY
1. Be sure meats are properly refrigerated before you cook and consume them. Your ground round for those perfect burgers should not be left out in the hot sun. Your meats should be properly cooled before cooked.

2. Speaking of cooking, take the time to cook your meats thoroughly. I found this out the hard way when I bought a grill. I was so excited to have my new grill that I only “slapped my steak” on there for seconds… you cannot cook a steak in a matter of seconds… I’m just saying.

3. If you make a food that requires refrigeration afterward, then be sure to refrigerate it. Potato salad, cole slaw and deviled eggs all need to be in the fridge if they are not being consumed. If they are eaten warm, then that “rumble in the jungle” will take place in your stomach and you will be in serious trouble.

FIRE AND GRILL SAFETY
1. OK… so here is my first tip: If you have no idea how to grill food and you are an expert at just eating grilled food, please leave grilling to someone who knows how to grill.

2. When you use your grill, make sure you use a grill brush to clean it thoroughly. Older “grill debris” on it can really make for a mess as well as a fire hazard.

3. Finally, please make sure you are using your grill in an open area. Be as far away from folks, other non grilled food and structures as you can.

WATER SAFETY
1. I will be the first to admit… I have already purchased my “spirits” for the weekend. However, I do not plan on operating my paddle boat with cocktail in hand. Please… if you are going to operate a watercraft this weekend, leave the alcohol at home. Enjoy your “buzz” on dry land and in the safety of a structure.

2. Wear a life jacket. Sure you cannot see that sexy two-piece, but I would rather have your gorgeous eyes on my blogs next week as opposed to you being in a hospital room.

3. If you have no idea what you are doing when it comes to steering a boat or maneuvering a watercraft, please ask for help.

4. Never, Never, ever go swimming alone, especially in the dark.

SUN SAFETY
1. Leave it to me to fight the signs of aging. In my “arsenal of age-fighting tools”, I have SPF 50. I use it on my face and body. You should use SPF on your gorgeous body too. I am waiting for the day that they make SPF 200. There’s a real market for such!

2. Drink lots of water alongside that alcoholic beverage. I like to alternate between a glass of wine or a cocktail and a cup of water. Being in the hot sun and being involved in activities can dehydrate you. So reach for water and then that beverage of choice.

DRIVING/TRAVEL SAFETY
1. OK… so drinking and driving… it is a HUGE NO! I would imagine that where you live, police will have more of a presence this weekend and they are looking for those drivers that are on the roads who are drinking and driving. Enjoy that alcohol, but PLEASE… DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!

2. Wear that seat belt! Sure you may be sober but you have to be on the lookout for others. Do you need another reason to wear your seat belt? OK, it’s the law. Boom.

3. Here is a great tip I learned from my friend with the three kids: Know where your nearest emergency room is. You may not need it, but just in case you do, it is there and you know the route to get there.

They are also expressing a “zero tolerance” or drinking and driving or driving while under the influence of substances or chemicals. Those who are found in violation of such laws will be arrested expediently.

“In the wake of the death of HCSO Sgt. Dwayne Polk in a crash caused by a drunken driver this past weekend, Sheriff Garcia will be joined by HCSO deputies, troopers of the Texas Highway Patrol and other area law enforcement agencies, to remind the public that irresponsibility will not be tolerated,” stated officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. “Drunken drivers and boaters, as well as those who commit other traffic violations, will be arrested.”

Officials with the HCSO believe that with safe practices implemented, residents of Harris County can enjoy the Memorial Day holiday weekend without being arrested or having emergency workers come to assist.

They encourage fun but also encourage vigilance and common sense coupled with that fun.

Pickler shared her win with her professional dance partner Derek Hough. During Tuesday night’s finale, they were competing against Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy.

When season 16 began, Kellie was one of two country artists on the program. Fellow dancer Wynonna Judd, though, was voted off in April.

Other stars competing this season included actor Andy Dick, figure skating champ Dorothy Hamill, football star Jacoby Jones, and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman.

It was a crazy day yesterday and I was so happy to see our CBS fundraiser come together so quickly. It warms your heart to see everyone so ready to help others. It reaffirms your faith in humanity.

I ran into some frustrating stuff in the afternoon. I had to deal with a gentleman about an issue. Actually, I probably shouldn’t use the word “gentleman.” I needed to get some info and he was so dismissive. In fact, he even snickered at what I was saying and basically, walked away before I was done speaking. I was so frustrated.

However, when Jeff spoke with this same person he was informative and respectful. So, that just shows me that because I am a woman I am not worth your time or deserve your full attention.

I am very disappointed. I thought we were a little further along in the 21st century. Well, when you don’t get my business in the future you will know why.

I love recommending people and giving great references, but when you disrespect me in my own home…then, we are done. I hate to sound so negative, but there was such a positive feeling coming from all of the charitable activities and this person kind of pooped on that.
