Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
You never know when you have the opportunity to do something wonderful for someone in this world.
A couple of months ago, Andy Mitchell was driving near Rockwall, Texas when he spotted a young man, dressed in a fast food uniform walking along the side of a road in the 95-degree heat.
Andy said he just heard a little voice telling him to pull over and offer a ride. And it was during that ride that he discovered the guy walking, 20-year-old Justin Korva, walked every day 3 miles to Taco Casa, and then after a long shift, he’d walk 3 miles home. Justin told him he was saving up and someday soon he’d be able to get a car.
Well, Andy was touched by Justin’s work ethic – so he posted about him on Facebook – and folks in Rockwall, and around the world took notice.
A Samee’s Bistro and Lounge, a local pizza joint, saw the post and put a tip jar out to help Justin – and the in less than 48 hours they raised $5,500 dollars and went to the Toyota of Rockwall, where the manager had also had read about Justin – and last Friday, they all met at Taco Casa and presented Justin with his own white 2004 Camry.
Justin looked at folks and said, “Are you serious?”
“It’s your car! This is your car,” they all yelled.
Not only did they have enough money to buy the car, they had enough left over to pay for his insurance for a year, plus two years’ worth of oil changes and a $500 gas card.
So where ever you are in the kitchen or in the car…can throw your hand in the air, “CAN I GET AN AMEN” for this … Always focused on the good news, and THANKS TO LINDSEY ANN & HER DAUGHTER RILEY for emailing it in – send any story you see to George@thebullhouston.com
