According to this new article from Huff Post, Five Guys has taken the American Hamburger Crown from former champion In-N-Out. The poll was taken over the last few months and these are the official standings:
1. Five Guys Burgers and Fries
2. In-N-Out Burger
3. Shake Shack
8. Sonic America’s Drive-In
10. Steak ‘n Shake
I’ve had all of these except for Culver’s and I would have to bet that price wasn’t factored into the “favorite” burger poll. I could be wrong, however, I don’t ever feel like I get my money’s worth at Five Guys. I think they’re very tasty, a little greasy, kinda old fashioned but my personal favorite is not even on the list. I’m a Burger King burger fan all the way. I love the Whopper, without Ketchup, of course. Nobody needs to put ketchup on a burger. I also like the Sourdough Jack from Jack in The Box. They’re not on the list either.
However, I know most Texans will be perturbed to see Whataburger drop all the way to the #6 spot on America’s list but the clear reason is that Whataburger isn’t in every state, yet. When it hits the rest of the continental United States everyone will wake up. It’s just a matter of time.
