Pittsburgh Steelers Defensive Coordinator, Keith Butler, has opened a huge can of worms. As you may know, Houston hosts Pittsburgh on a Christmas Day showdown that will pit two of the Watt brothers’ respective teams against one another. Since they are both defensive players they won’t get the chance to collide or compete directly.
However, according to this report Butler said about the sibling rivalry, “His brother is hoping he can play fullback once or twice when we play them this year so he can try to run over his brother.”
J.J. has commented in the past about his T.J.’s athletic ability, “He worked his butt off,” J.J. Watt said, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “He’s always been a natural athlete, he’s always been a little more smooth than I was. When he started to play [defense], he just had a knack for it, things that didn’t necessarily come natural to me.”
Whether J.J. ends up on the offense for that legendary collision of siblings remains to be seen but there’s no doubt that the entire football world will be glued to the television for this blockbuster of a matchup!
I can support this idea! I think we all want to see a J.J. vs T.J. collision. Not to mention, J.J is such a good player he could probably handle both sides of the ball! I doubt the coaches want to see too much Watt on offense due to injury possibilities but one play can’t hurt! Or can it?
