Oh My Torchy’s

I need to start this edition of The Haps In Houston With Corey Dillon by saying, yes I know I waited way too long for my first visit to Torchy’s Tacos.

Since that is out of the way…holy smokes, I am pretty mad at myself for waiting three and a half months before I got to enjoy some of these delicious tacos! It being my first visit, I only got to try a couple of menu items. As much as I would love to have tried every item on the menu, I could only stomach two tacos (I may have had a slight hangover from the night before). So I decided to go with:

Trailer Park: Fried chicken, Green Chiles, Lettuce, Pico de Gallo and Cheese on a flour tortilla with Poblano Sauce. I got it TRASHY, so ditched the lettuce and added Queso! (taco on right of photo) This taco was my favorite of the two, absolutely delicious, plus whenever you add queso to something, it’s tough to beat!

The Republican: Grilled Jalapeño Sausage, Shredded Cheese and Pico de Gallo on a flour tortilla with Poblano Sauce.  (taco on the left of photo) I reaaaaally enjoyed this taco as well, more simple than the other taco but that jalapeño sausage was damn good, and by the picture you can tell there’s no shortage of meat!

There is no doubt in my mind that there are one, two or one hundred more visits to Torchy’s in my future. If y’all have any recommendations on must try items here…and I’ve heard rumblings of a secret menu as well, please let me know on my social media, just click the links below!
