Surgery is scary. Ruby was agitated and nervous before her surgery the other day. And depending on your doctor, they often have different bedside manners when dealing with nervous patients. Ruby’s doctor decided to calm her by singing (clip)
Dr. Ross Henderson, pulled out his guitar and sat down on the floor and started playing and singing. The doctor said “It was a special moment,” Henderson told the TODAY show.
Now, Dr. Henderson who is 28-years-old and works at the Fox Hollow Animal Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado is getting all kinds of attention and marriage proposals.
Yes, Dr. Henderson was singing to Ruby, the golden retriever who was nervous before her spay surgery last week.
Henderson said he grew up wanting to be a vet, just like his dad, but he loves to sing and play the guitar — in fact, he and other staff often sing for the office cat, Greg.
“I think he’s immune to it, though,” Henderson said, adding that his own dog, Charlie, is also “sick of me singing.”
