Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
Jonny Benjamin and Neil Laybourn finished their first marathon this weekend… and when they ran past the Waterloo bridge – they stopped and took a moment.
Now stopping in the middle of the marathon is not something you usually do, but these first timers were gonna finish in about 5 and a half hours so they could take a minute.
You see, they met for the first time on Waterloo Bridge in 2008 : When Jonny in such despair he was ready to jump, and the latter the unexpected good Samaritan who intervened…”with a promise that “things can get better” and an invitation for coffee, Neil successfully talked Jonny back to safety before they went their separate ways.”
It was about seven years later that Jonny decided to find the guy who saved his life. He launched a worldwide social media campaign to “Find Mike” – that’s what Jonny’s called Neiil cause he didn’t know his real name. They found each other and the pair ran the London Marathon together yesterday.
It was also a fundraiser for “Heads Together”, and the pair were invited to run the marathon by the Royal Family – Prince William and Prince Harry. In addition to finishing the marathon – they also are set to raise £50,000 for Heads Together.
They said the whole experience has been “phenomenal”,
So where ever you are in the kitchen or in the car…can throw your hand in the air, “CAN I GET AN AMEN” for this … Always focused on the good news, and if you ever see a story that would make a great amen email it in at George@thebullhouston.com
