Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
Cats – we tease on the show that they always seem like they are plotting to take over the world. And Cats aren’t like dogs. Dogs greet you everyday when you get home as if you’ve been on a worldwide adventure and are just returning home the conquering hero.
Nope! Cats, for the most part, act like they could care less – unless it’s feeding time. But there are Cat Lovers who will tell you a different story, like Rebecca Gordon who works at an animal shelter just outside of Toronto, Canada. Rebecca and the numbers will tell that cats get abandoned at a higher rate than dogs and are much more likely to struggle socially when turned in or dropped off at shelters.
So one day when Rebecca was caring for some orphaned cats – she something online that has changed the way they acclimate cats to the shelter. She saw a picture of a cat sitting on an Ikea Doll Bed. So, Rebecca got up her courage and called the local Ikea store and last week they doll beds and $300 to the shelter to help care for orphaned cats.
The video of the folks putting together the beds – it is IKEA after all – and the cats helping them is simply adorable. Rebecca said some cats are playful “…and sometimes (they’ll) perch on the beds,” while other more shy orphans love to “…lay under the bed.”
Either way – she’s hoping the video will shed light on the little things people can do to support the shelters everywhere. And If you’re thinking like us…yes we did search our local Ikea and they stock the beds – if you’d like to know more just text message us this morning at 713-390-5458.
But right now, where ever you are…in the kitchen or in the car – Can you throw your hand in the air… “CAN I GET AN AMEN”… – Focused on The Good it’s the Morning Bull, and if you ever see a story you think would make a great amen – email it in to us at george@thebullhouston
