Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
Everything is Bigger in TEXAS…Including Weddings. We Love LOVE on the Morning Bull and we’ve heard about some unusual themes and out of the way settings for weddings here in the Lone-Star State. But, Evan and Melissa Tate of Rockwall, Texas take the cake…funnel cake that is! The couple met in 2014 and got engaged at the State Fair of Texas last year, Evan said “It was so busy, and the whole crowd saw what was happening, and I dropped to my knee…She said yes, and then the crowd broke into cheers all around. It was wonderful.”
So how do you top a proposal like without going into huge debt? That is becoming an issue for modern couples. The proposals have become so big that the wedding is a let-down. Evan wanted to make sure that didn’t happen so he asked his folks if he and Melissa could get married on the family farm. When they said yes, he went out and rented a full sized Ferris Wheel and had a TEXAS STATE FAIR themed wedding.
In addition to the Ferris Wheel, Evan and Melissa set up their own arts building. “…where people place their entries for photo contests, art contests and sculptures (at the fair),”. Instead of art entries, they had folks bring their fav photo of the couple and attach a prize ribbon to fit in with the theme.
The table decorations were Dr. Pepper bottles with flowers in them. They had barbecued turkey legs, a popcorn bar, cotton candy and instead of feeding each other cake – they munched on Fletcher’s Corny Dogs with ribbons tied on them. Evan said while it’s not “normal” it was perfect for them!
So where ever you are in the kitchen or in the car…can throw your hand in the air, “CAN I GET AN AMEN” for this … Always focused on the good news, and if you ever see a story that would make a great amen email it in at George@thebullhouston.com
