Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
Prom is a tough time for all kinds of folks. Who’s gonna ask you to prom & what to wear? Betty Jane Keene said she was having some of the same stress – until she saw it – a pale pink long dress with a light jacket. Betty Jane said “I (always) thought I looked good in pink,” and soon after she found the dress, the invitation came. Connor asked Betty Jane if she’d be his date to Pinewood Prep Prom in Summerville, South Carolina.
And they two were the hit of the prom, Betty Jane said “It was wonderful…every boy and girl…about 100 (people) at that dance,…they all came up and shook my hand and then I got Connor to dance with me.”
Did I mention that Betty Jane is 93 and Connor is her Grandson?
Betty Jane said Connor asked here about a year ago, She said “He promised me a year ago…I’ll take you.’ For the whole year, he kept saying it.” When the time finally came, he did ask and she said she’d already picked out that lovely long, pale pink gown from her favorite catalog – yes she ordered from a catalog.
By the way, Betty Jane said of Connor and that first dance at the prom “He’s not a dancer, but I am.” – but she said she isn’t going next year
“I had a wrist corsage with pink roses. He had a pink rose boutonniere,” Keene said. “He had a pink tie and vest with his tuxedo. He’s such a handsome boy.” But she said she is not going next year because “I want him to find a girlfriend.”
So where ever you are in the kitchen or in the car…can throw your hand in the air, “CAN I GET AN AMEN” for this … Always focused on the good news, and if you ever see a story that would make a great amen email it in at George@thebullhouston.com
