Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
Our Police Officers never know what they’ll face each day when they report for duty, we’re dealing with some that in Baytown right now, so when I see a story like this – I have to share.
Police officers also have to be on guard and they can’t just accept an invitation to lunch or party. But one officer in Massachusetts broke the rules. Sgt. Steve Dearth said he had taken a dinner break at a Panera Bread when he noticed Lillian staring at him. He smiled. She smiled.
Sgt. Dearth said he went back to waiting for his order, but Lillian smiled and waved again. The police officer went to a corner, where he sat alone eating when Lillian came over and asked him a question he said he’s never gotten. Lillian, who is 3 years old, asked Sgt. Dearth if he’d like to come to a play date in a few days.
The police officer said “She said the cutest thing,” said Dearth. “I don’t know what the few days were for but she had to wait a few days.” Lillian’s dad said she wants to be a police officer when she grows up. Sgt. Dearth said “I gave her a junior police officer sticker.” And this past week, Lillian and her family went to the police station for her play date.
“She had a big box of munchkins Dunkin Donuts. She gave me a big hug and she said, ‘These are for you but you have to share with your friends.”
So where ever you are in the kitchen or in the car…can throw your hand in the air, “CAN I GET AN AMEN” for this … Always focused on the good news, and if you ever see a story that would make a great amen email it in at George@thebullhouston.com
