Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
Flying can be its own special kind of frustration…but today flying provides us with our AMEN.
You guys may or may not know that most major airlines allow children under the age of two to fly for free on domestic flights. The kiddo has to sit on their parent’s lap, and if the plane isn’t full – airlines will let the kiddos sit in their own seat.
So like 4 months ago, a young dad booked just one ticket for him and his one-year-old daughter. However when Dad and daughter got to the airport there was one little glitch. The dad did not take into account that his daughter would be over 2 years old at the time of the flight.
So when he tried to check in the ticket counter made him aware and said he would need to purchase another ticket for the little girl or she would not be allowed to board the plane. The dad tried explaining that it was an oversight, but you know airline rules. He begged and pleaded and said that he didn’t have the money to buy another ticket or rebook on such short notice. But no luck, the dad stepped aside and starting making calls, all the while hugging and comforting his daughter. That’s when Debbie Bolton – who was standing at the next counter checking on a connection for her flight – heard the whole thing and said “I’ll Buy the ticket for that little girl”
The lady at the counter said “you do understand how much a last minute ticket is right…it’s $749 dollars” – Debbie didn’t blink and bought the ticket and the dad and the daughter.
This story got posted on a Facebook page/website I love called “LOVE WHAT MATTERS
The agent said she got goosebumps seeing the guy hug the woman. He asked for her name to repay her. But Debbie just kept saying, ‘Don’t worry about it.’
So where ever you are in the kitchen or in the car…can throw your hand in the air, “CAN I GET AN AMEN” for this … Always focused on the good news, and if you ever see a story that would make a great amen email it in at George@thebullhouston.com
