Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
I LOVE going to Home Depot. I think for guys it’s like what women love about going to Target. It’s a lot of looking around, dreaming about projects you’d do if you had time and money. Scott Nielson, 46, was a lot like me – he loved going to the Home Depot in his hometown of Vancouver, Washington.
And it is Home Depot that figures into Scott’s last wish. Just after Christmas Scott learned that he had a brain tumor, and was preparing for the fight – when he suddenly passed away last week. Scott was a well-known contractor, and if you have any contractors or builders in your life you know they spend as much time at Home Depot as they do working, right!
So this past Thursday, the back corner of the Home Depot in Vancouver, Scott’s three brothers and some of the folks he knew at the store – they all gathered and built a custom casket for Scott – right there at Home Depot.
One of Scott’s brothers said, “When we have something to focus on, it’s almost eliminated the heartbreak…” His siblings continued saying, “(The store has) known Scott for so many years, working with him, that they wanted to be a part of it, and they said the store’s yours, anything you want,”
Scott had a big impact on everyone he met, including the staff at Home Depot, so roughly 30 employees from the store carpooled to Scott’s funeral this past Friday morning.
So where ever you are in the kitchen or in the car…can throw your hand in the air, “CAN I GET AN AMEN” for this … Always focused on the good news, and if you ever see a story that would make a great amen email it in at George@thebullhouston.com
