Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
Tom Mitchell is a mechanic. He sees something that needs work, he fixes it. Tom works on school buses for the school district garage in northern Tennessee.
So recently when they needed a fill-in bus driver, Tom jumped into fix the shortage by driving a bus. The route Tom drove included a group of special needs children. And when Tom stopped to pick up this one little girl – he had to wait, because the wheelchair-bound little girl was having trouble getting out of her house and onto the bus.
So Tom got her onboard the bus, took all the kids to school and then Tom did what he always does he fixed things. He went to the hardware store, bought a bunch of lumber, called some buddies and they built a NEW, easier to use ramp for the little girl before she got home from school.
The little girl’s mom said her daughter has struggled for a while, “Every day she would come out and struggle with this small little area and this aluminum ramp that didn’t go to the top step.” But Tom and his friends changed all that for the better, and mom is overjoyed. “It’s those little things that people take for granted,” she said. “And maybe I didn’t even realize (our) predicament because I’m so used to doing it solo.”
So where ever you are in the kitchen or in the car…can throw your hand in the air, “CAN I GET AN AMEN” for this … Always focused on the good news, and if you ever see a story that would make a great amen email it in at George@thebullhouston.com
