Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
If your workplace is like ours – it’s been all about Girl Scout cookies. Deliveries and selling cookies are common sights this time of year. It’s also pretty common to see the girl scouts outside supermarkets and other local businesses selling those boxes. And with the girls – is usually a mom watching over the scouts.
And usually all the moms are asked to do – is occasionally help with change or opening boxes. But in Union City, California a mom said that she had to become the protector. She was watching over a couple of 12 year-olds when a man came up – pulled a guy and robbed the girls and mom of all the money they had made selling cookies.
Neither of the 12-year-old girls or the mother was hurt, but they were understandably upset. So the Union City police put out a plea to the community to help catch the guy. And the cops all got together and have donated more than a $1,000 to the mother and girl — and the cops also bought all the cookies they had to left to sell.
Many of the officers involved in the investigation have children actively involved in scouting, and donated their own money to cover the loss from the robbery, officials said. The Union City Police Officers Association purchased all of the remaining boxes of cookies.
The girl’s mother delivered dozens of boxes of cookies to police Thursday. Most of the department was they and the chief said he is “just glad no one was hurt and we were able to change a negative thing into something positive for the mom and her daughter.
