It’s Official: No More Texans Training Camp In Houston

This is a bummer! One of my favorite things to do in Houston is go to the Houston Texans training camp. A couple years ago, the Texans were featured on HBO Hardknocks and Texan fans got to be there for all the fun and last year it was more of the same minus the cameras. Well, those days are gone and according to the Houston Chronicle, the Texans are moving their training camp to VIRGINIA!

WHY SO FAR?!

Gonna need vacation days and a few tanks of gas to make the trek to Training Camp now but maybe this will mean fewer distractions for our players as they prepare for the season.

According to Chron.com, Owner Bob McNair said last week that one reason the Texans were moving to West Virginia is because of better weather. The temperature is a lot cooler than in Houston during training camp in August.

I guess not everyone is cut out for the Texas heat. It makes me wonder about our youngsters who practice and participate in two-a-days in High School under that blaring Texas sun! If it’s not good for NFL players I can only wonder what the effect is on teenagers? Makes you wonder!
