The is probably one of the saddest stories I have heard about during this holiday season. A 5-year-old terminally ill patient had a wish to meet Santa Clause before Christmas and the kind folks at the hospital wanted to make sure that they made it happen for him.
For the hospital and everyone that loved the little boy, the goal was to get face time with St. Nick as there was a huge chance the boy wouldn’t make it until Christmas morning. This is when Eric Schmitt-Matzen walked in the room and made the kid’s dream come true.
With his natural beard and Santa-like features, Schmitt-Matzen put a smile in the kid’s face seconds before wrapping his arms around the boy. Little did he know that they boy would pass away in his arms. Hear Santa’s account of what happened, in tears he describes the boy’s final moment. I would advice everyone watching to grab a tissue.
