Bad news coming from Colombia in the early hours of this Tuesday morning as we learn that a plane carrying 72 passengers and 9 crew members, including Brazilian soccer team Chapecoense, has crashed overnight in route to Medellin International airport.
Authorities have been responding to the crash and have confirmed 6 survivors so far. They are continuing to look for other signs of life near the crash site, however, heavy rains in the area have made this task extremely difficult.
The airport, along with other major entities, have confirmed the crash and the presence of the Copa Sudamericana finalists via their official social media accounts. The team was traveling to play the finals tonight!
We will continue to follow the story as it develops! Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones during this difficult time.
