Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
We love teachers, we talk all the time about how we feel like they are heroes, but you know who doesn’t get enough love –Bus Drivers. I mean great bus drivers like Michele Yob. Last Monday, Michelle was picking up elementary school kids, and one of those children, Farrah Heim, was waiting at her bus stop with a tray of homemade cupcakes for her class Halloween party.
Michele stopped the bus to pick up the kids – we can just hear Farrah yelling up to the bus driver “Miss Michele look at my cupcakes”. It was just as Farrah was getting on the bus that the girl in front of Farrah slipped on the top step of the bus and kicked the tray of cupcakes of Farrah’s hands.
Bus driver Michele said, “Everybody just froze…I looked at her, and I felt so bad because she is staring at the empty tray and the cupcakes on the floor, and tears just started flowing.” There was nothing else to do but take the kids on to school. But that’s when Michele went from good bus driver – to GREAT person, Michele took the cupcake pan, and in between her bus routes, she ran home and baked two dozen cupcakes. She delivered them to Farrah and her class in time for the Halloween party.
When she showed up Farrah said “I didn’t know she was going to make me cupcakes, but then the lady came in and said these are for Farrah Heim, and I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, my bus driver made me cupcakes!'” Farrah said. “I was actually crying again but for happiness because I couldn’t believe she would actually do that for me.” All the students in Farrah Heim’s class were so touched they wrote a card, and gave it to Yob, calling her “the bus driver that saved the day.”
So where ever you are in the kitchen or in the car…can throw your hand in the air, “CAN I GET AN AMEN” for this bus drive… Always focused on the good news, and if you ever see a story that would make a great amen email it in at George@thebullhouston.com
