You might be surprised by this – I know I was – one of the largest conventions of the year for Houston opens today – THE INTERNATIONAL QUILT FESTIVAL!  And a lady from Dickinson won BEST IN SHOW, Cynthia England, from England Design Studio in Dickinson, picked up the top prize at the world’s largest quilt show on last night. Her amazing, winning creation was a quilt titled, “Reflections of Cape Town,”.  Cynthia said she used her own Picture-Piecing technique to recreate this vivid scene from a South African fishing village.
