Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
While the whole US seemed to fixated on “locker room talk” and some dude in a red sweater at the debate, the world has missed the story of Craig Williams, who lives here in Texas. Craig woke up Sunday morning and was worried about his brother Chris, who lives in Hope Mill, North Carolina. It was that area of North Carolina that Hurricane Matthew dumped feet of rain on this past Saturday and Sunday.
Craig had jumped on twitter and was searching the hastag #HopeMills. He said after just a minute or so on the social media site he happened upon a photo that had just been posted and was taken by a local, who also happened to be flying a drone over the area. In the picture is showed a house – actually several houses completely swamped by flood water. So Craig sent it to his brother in North Carolina, with the message – “at least this isn’t your house.”
But what he didn’t know is that it was in fact his brother’s neighborhood and one of the houses in the picture was his brother’s house, where his brother, a navy veteran was trapped with his dog and couldn’t get out. This all playing out on twitter live on twitter – Craig message the man with the drone – alerted him to his brother situation – the man with drone, went back to street, flagged down a FEMA crew, who rescued his brother Chris and his dog Lana.
Craig says he’s run it again and again in his mind – what idf he hadn’t logged on to twitter that morning, what if the drone operator hadn’t posted the picture at the time he was on there….he said he believes it was divine intervention. Sadly – lost in the debate debacle – is that fact that 21 people in the USA and Hundreds in Haiti lost their lives this past weekend to Hurricane Matthew.
So where ever you are in the kitchen or in the car…can throw your hand in the air… “CAN I GET AN AMEN”, Focused on The Good News it’s the Morning Bull, and if you ever see a story you think would make a GREAT AMEN – please email it to email@example.com
