Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
Our Brave soldiers that serve all come away with battle scars…some are invisible, and some are very visible. That’s the case of former Marine Sergeant John Peck, who lost all four limbs as the result of an explosion of an IED in Afghanistan in May 2010. Sgt. John underwent 14 hours of surgery in Boston in August. And yesterday he unveiled what the surgery was all about.
John had a double arm transplant. The procedure involved 60 doctors, nurses and other medical personnel. At yesterday’s press conference his new arms still were scarred and move awkwardly, but every day with the new limbs is better, he said at a news conference at the hospital. And while he is learning to dress himself, brush his teeth and feed himself all over again, it was what he said at the end of the press conference that caught everyone off guard – he said that he recently he & fiancée, Jessica Paker whom he had met after he was injured – Held hands for the first time and could feel it.
“That truly is a special gift,” he said, and after he finishes the nine to 12 months of rehabilitation. “I’ll be able to pursue my dreams…to be a Chef.” – He’s already started cooking but because he doesn’t have full feeling in the new limbs, he has to be careful he doesn’t cut or burn himself. He plans to visit France and Italy to hone his craft, he said. (READ FULL STORY AND GET ALL THE PICTURE HERE)
