In the most heart-warming video that has been posted, country music superstar Darius Rucker shows why he is one of the most beloved musicians.
The “Alright” singer surprised audience members as well as the current performer on the stage during a high school talent show to perform a duet with Frankie Antonelii, the teen-aged fan with Down syndrome who put his whole heart and soul into his own signature rendition of one of Rucker’s songs.
Antonelli who seems to have great charisma and tenacity with the crowd even encourages everyone to stand up while he sings! (What showmanship!)
Rucker, who is a native of South Carolina, joined in with Antonelli as the two then sang Rucker’s “While I Still Got Time”.
One can hear the applause and imagine first-hand the hearts that went fluttering once Rucker hit the stage of South Carolina’s Wando High School to accompany Antonelli and finish the song.
After the song, Rucker hugged the teen, receiving thunderous applause. According to the Post and Courier, 16-year-old Antonelli has been a fan of Rucker for quite some time and has been singing his songs at school talent shows since the fifth grade.
“‘He was so excited,’ said mom Debbie, who planned the whole thing. The Antonellis have actually known Rucker for a while through husband Frank’s job and Rucker once promised Frankie he’d sing with him,” as reported by the Post and Courier.
Who says superstars are without hearts and love for mankind?
