On November 11, Kellie Pickler will release her fourth studio album, The Woman I Am. The follow-up to 2012’s 100 Proof, Pickler cowrote three songs on the forthcoming release, including the title track.
“I was doing an interview and a gentleman said, ‘So, if I were to tell someone who doesn’t listen to country music and is not familiar with you to get one song off iTunes to download that kind of describes you in a nutshell, what would it be?’” she said in a release. “I thought and then I said, ‘I don’t think I’ve written it yet, but I’m going to,’ and my husband and I wrote it that night.”
In August, Pickler released the album’s first single, “Little Bit Gypsy.” In it, Pickler warns her man that she won’t be tied down. Co-written by her husband, Kyle Jacobs, along with Tammi Kidd Hutton and Fred Wilhelm, the track features a hefty helping of pedal steel guitar and a foot-tapping beat.
In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year, Pickler said that The Woman I Am will be “Kellie country” and will include stories about her real life, set to fiddle and pedal steel.
