If you are a Dixie Chicks fan, then you have reason to celebrate! The group is making plans to return to Canada this fall for their first tour of the country in seven years!
The Dixie Chicks who are the voices behind such hits as “Lullaby”, “Landslide” (and my personal favorite) “Not Ready To Make Nice” announced the “2013 Long Time Gone Tour” on Monday.
Taste Of Country reports: “One of the shows, Oct. 31 in Calgary, [Alberta], is a reschedule of a concert postponed due to flooding earlier this year. Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison were to play the Calgary Stampede on July 12. Those who bought tickets for that show can still use them for the new date. Those who can’t attend the new date can return tickets to Ticketmaster through Aug. 31.” Click here to view pictures of the Dixie Chicks!
The band is composed of founding members (and sisters) Martie Erwin Maguire and Emily Erwin Robison, with Natalie Maines serving as lead singer. The band formed in 1989 in Dallas, Texas, and was originally composed of four women performing bluegrass and country songs. They topped charts with such songs as “There’s Your Trouble” and “Wide Open Spaces” (another one of my favorites!). The women also have two scheduled at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in October.
