Dear Diary,

This is a very special day. Jeff and I have been married for five years. I am truly a lucky lady. He is amazing and continues to be my rock, my soul-mate, my hero. Sometimes my hero figuratively, but one anniversary…literally. Our first anniversary, that was the year my husband beat up a would-be intruder with a golf club.

I wouldn’t trade the last 5 years for anything, let alone our many adventures which have covered three states. We are very  lucky and I hope he knows that I love him with all of my heart. Here is one of our best photos:

Life is short and as long as he is by my side I can handle anything.

I think I am a little melancholy. I haven’t spent any quality time with him all week. He worked late again last night. But it is for a good cause, as long as that damn rain holds off. I am keeping my fingers crossed we don’t have a repeat of last year’s Mardi Gras in Galveston. Luckily, we were at a party we could escape from the rain. I would really like no rain this year. The face-painter? Yeah, that I would do again.

The title? Refers to our 2nd appearance on ‘Great Day Houston’ on KHOU. Let’s just say I don’t feel petite.
