Iconic country crooner Randy Travis will avoid jail time. According to reports, Travis has accepted a plea deal with prosecutors in his misdemeanor assault case.

The case was one in which Travis got into a fight with another man outside a church last summer in Texas.

Additional reports indicate that Travis’ attorney, Larry Friedman, stated that Travis will receive a 90-day deferred sentence over the incident. Travis was arrested on August 23, 2012 when he centralized himself in a verbal spat between his fiancée and her estranged husband, Ritchie Beougher. He allegedly roughed up Beougher during the fight.

According to the plea agreement Travis made on Monday, it states that he must stay out of trouble and adhere to the terms and conditions of his probation during those 90 days.

Travis, who has seen his fair share of run-ins with the law, filed a civil suit against Beougher claiming he provoked the altercation with the intentions of injuring and harming him.

Earlier this year, Travis was charged with a DWI charge by prosecutors in Sherman, Texas for driving while intoxicated.

Do you think that Travis will have anymore run-ins with the law? Sound off and watch video from Randy Travis below:
