“J.R. Ewing”, the iconic character on television’s “Dallas” series, will receive the proper send-off. In a statement released by TNT, the network in which Larry Hagman reprised his role as the villain America loved to hate, will feature an episode in which “J.R. Ewing” is laid to rest.
Larry Hagman played the ruthless character on the “Dallas” show and died November 23 of this year. CBS aired the original show and TNT continued the story of the Ewing family. Hagman was also known for his roles on “I Dream of Jeannie” and other television roles.
He completed filming several episodes before his sudden death, and production on season two (debuting January 28) was not significantly affected.
Writers of TNT’s “Dallas” were able to retrench the script so that “J.R.s Ewing”‘s funeral could be written in.
Additional reports indicate that the network will devote the eighth episode of season two, airing March 11, to “J.R. Ewing”‘s funeral.
