Mitch Winehouse, father of the late singer Amy Winehouse, is planning a tribute show in honor of his daughter. The show is slated to take place in North London. Mitch Winehouse is also scheduled to unveil a statue of his daughter on September 14th, 2014, in Camden. Amy Winehouse lived in Camden before her death.
Additional reports indicate that Mitch Winehouse is looking to make the tribute event a “Live Aid-type concert” that will consist of several hours of entertainment. Although there have been no musical performers or acts confirmed as of yet for the concert, he hopes to have singers perform multiple songs for the tribute.
Amy Winehouse died July 23, 2011 at the age of 27. Known for hits such as “Rehab” and “Stronger Than Me”, Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning and her album “Back to Black” posthumously became the United Kingdom’s best-selling album of the 21st century.
