Jessica Simpson’s world has been smacked up and flipped around. Just as the singer/fashion designer gets used to life as a new mom  her parents, Joe and Tina, have filed for divorce after being married 32 years.  The reported reason for the split is even more shocking!

Tina Simpson filed for divorce back in September citing  “the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities.”  According to the court documents the couple has been married since 1978 and the papers were filed here in Texas.

That’s the first part of the shocker.  The second part is the reason for the couple’s split.  According to The National Enquirer, Joe Simpson sat the family down a couple of months ago and came out of the closet.  That’s right! The former youth pastor and Baptist minister told his family that he is gay!

WHAT???

The inside source told The Enquirer, “He told them that he’d tried to continue in his marriage to Tina, but he couldn’t go on any longer and deny the fact that he had these feelings for men.”

“Joe said it wasn’t fair to her, and it wasn’t fair to him.”

Wait! It gets better…

This inside source also claims that Joe, 54, confessed to having an affair with a 20-something boy toy.

Shocking isn’t it?

You have to wonder what Jessica and sister Ashlee thought when they heard the news.  Needless to say, sources say that the girls were blindsided and had no clue that their dad was gay.

I’m curious how Jessica or her mother for that matter had no idea.  You’d think there would be signs of some sort. Or at least Jessica’s gay-dar or her  gay bff/hairdresser would’ve clued her in.

As expected, Jessica is still processing the startling news. “ She can’t understand why Joe stayed married to Tina for so long, and can’t help wondering how much of their life was a lie.”  However, the source says that she will stand by her father no matter what because he is her dad, but also her manager.
