For me to recommend a song that you should spend your hard-earned money on and go and download, I have to really like it. The first time I heard this song is when I played it on the air the other day and I instantly fell in love with it.
A Texas native, Kacey Musgraves, might sound familiar to some folks. She’s the girl you hear on Josh Abbott’s Band’s ‘”Oh Tonight.’” Kacey, 23, has written songs that Martina McBride and fellow Texan Miranda Lambert have recorded. In fact, Kacey co-wrote “Mama’s Broken Heart” which is on Miranda’s lastest album and Rolling Stone Magazine ranked it as #26 on their “50 Best Singles of 2011″ list.
“Merry Go Round” is a song that strikes a cord with a lot of women. I can’t tell you how many of us women pressure ourselves to get married and have kids because we think we’re supposed to. Then we end up settling we don’t end up alone.
This song spoke to me and that’s why I had to download it immediately after hearing it.
Kacey will release her debut album later this year. Here’s the video for “Merry Go round.”
