George Strait Cuts Concert Short Due To Illness

He may be the King, but even the king gets sick here and there. Over the weekend, George made a tour stop in Kansas City with over 18,000 eagerly awaiting a great show. The show started like any other concert, but this time it ended a lot sooner than it usually does. After singing just 2 songs Goerge told the crowd that he was too sick to continue.

“I just can’t do it,” Strait told his audience, who quickly forgave him and offered up a standing ovation. George assured the crowd that the show would be rescheduled for next weekend and that everyone’s ticket would still be good.

Martina who’s on tour with George, stepped in and performed for another hour and a half for all the fans. An official statement from the Sprint Center Saturday (Feb. 25) said, “All original tickets for tonight’s show will be honored on March 3. George Strait deeply appreciates the understanding of his Kansas City fans. George and Martina look forward to returning to Sprint.”

We’re wishing George a speedy recovery!

We had 4 tickets to the show and we flew in from Houston to see the concert and visit family and friends, sucks we can’t fly back but Martina was great but she didn’t sing another hour and a half maybe like 10 minutes more, George came on about 9:20 or so and I just remember the one song he sang. He did sound terrible.
