The holidays are a special time of year and the music that accompanies it are an important part of the holidays. Unfortunately, there are some bad, downright terrible holiday songs that just won’t go away. Check out the list here!
I’m Gettin’ Nuttin’ for Christmas
The song is about a bratty, borderline just mean child that’s upset about not getting anything for Christmas. Well you know what, you deserve it, and this song deserves to be on this list for its horrible subject matter.
All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth
Is there any song more quoted by older members of the family to younger relatives who just lost their front teeth? Throw in that cringe-inducing, whistling effect in the song and it’s almost impossible to get through this song.
Funky Funky X-Mas
Quick! When you think of Christmas songs who is the first artist that pops into your head? If you answered New Kids on the Block, then congratulations on your ridiculous taste in music. White kids rapping, fake british accents and Marky Mark’s brother trying out his best Santa impression, it’s a perfect storm of awfulness.
The Chipmunk Song
There was a time when people enjoyed listening to the Chipmunks sing so much that they rleased FULL ALBUMS. How is that possible??
Barking Dogs – Jingle Bells
You know, I live next door to a dog that doesn’t stop barking and my first thought was not “You know what, if he had about three of his friends and they barked in rythm, I would really enjoy that!”
Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer
Nothing says “the holidays are about spending time with the ones you love” like playing a song about a loved one being trampled to death by reindeer. Plus, I have a feeling that the “grandma’s death was caused by Santa’s reindeer” defense wouldn’t work very well with authorities.
